CHAPTER 02 — About the Company

An importer and distributor for Iraq's baby and food aisles.

Shma is a food and baby-products distribution company serving retailers across Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. We bring trusted international brands of infant formula, baby food, diapers, and everyday foodstuffs to the shelves where families shop.

We sit between the manufacturer and the retailer, and we own every link in between: the agency and the import, the customs clearance and the certificates, the warehouse and the batch control, the fleet and the route, and the merchandising that helps the product sell. One partner, accountable from the factory gate to the store shelf.

Baby products and food leave no room for shortcuts — parents read every date and every label. So we import only from established manufacturers, we hold the agencies that prove the product is genuine, and we manage stock to strict first-in-first-out and expiry control. What reaches your shelf is fresh, documented, and exactly what it claims to be.

Our mission is to make trusted brands easy to stock and easy to sell. We deliver in full and on time, we price fairly for the trade, and we stay with the product after it lands — because a distributor is judged not by what it ships, but by what stays on the shelf and sells.

PRINCIPLES · 04

Operating principles

  1. 01

    Genuine, authorised product

Imported from established manufacturers under proper agencies, with full documentation and certification. No grey stock, no surprises at the shelf or the border.

  2. 02

    Dates and quality protected

Strict batch and expiry control, first-in-first-out rotation, and standard-compliant storage — so shelf life is preserved from our dock to yours.

  3. 03

    Delivered in full, on time

Our own fleet on regular routes means complete orders, on schedule, across the governorates — fewer stock-outs and fewer emergency reorders.

  4. 04

    Partner beyond the invoice

Merchandising, promotions, and after-sales support that help the product turn — we measure success by what sells through, not just what we ship in.
